The Unusual Frank White Man The Unusual Frank White Man
An Important Message from Coach Steve

Greetings,
Recently, I was on the phone with a young woman named Betsy, the assistant director for the Women's Wellness Department at an international manufacturing and distribution plant in Golden,Colorado, home to all that yummy, sparkling clear, Rocky Mountain water.

"I really like your nine-step training camp,Coach," Betsy told me. "But I got freaked when I saw you on The Daily Show. I mean, like, why would anybody want to shut down Ladies'Night? That's like a really mean thing to do. I mean, like, don't you like women? Don't you know women deserve special privileges for earning less than men? Some of us women here at the plant just think you seem scary for doing such a weird thing."

First off, I congratulated Betsy for being honest with me and having the gumption to lay her true concerns about hiring me out on the line for full inspection. Then I said, "Betsy, we've just had another school shooting. The shooter, like many shooters before him, admitted to feeling angry because he believed, whether it was real or imagined...doesn't matter, that others were getting a better deal in life than he was. He finally became so enraged that he opened fire on his classmates. But is that such a surprise, Betsy? For the last thirty-five years our Social Services industry, utilizing the largest budget in the world, bar none, has indoctrinated three generations of Americans with the notion that some of us deserve special favors based on race and gender, while others, also based on race and gender, deserve no special favors. The inevitable result is that, for the recipients, the favors are never enough and, for the others, the question is asked 'Why does he or she get that and not me?' It's a system which stirs up discontentment, resentment, confusion, and anger. It's a bone-headed mentality, Betsy. It's all about engineering and promoting destructive double standards."

Betsy seemed genuinely interested in what I was saying so I continued. "I mean, women publicly say they want equal rights, but then they want special favors at their favorite watering hole? Even though discrimination at a place of public accommodation on the basis of gender is illegal? We publicly complain that the sanctity of life has diminished in America, meanwhile we butcher 3000 innocent children in the name of legalized abortion every single day? We claim to want stronger families while we reward women with more government handouts whenever they have sex with strangers and bear children out of wedlock? We claim to want safer borders while we reward illegals and their families with stacks of government handouts? We claim a desire to return to higher morals while more and more elected legislators condone homosexuality simply to get re-elected? I mean, the list goes on and on. And then we feign surprise when people feel so betrayed by the hypocrisy that they lash out in violence? Come on, that's a bit naive, isn't it? Don't we always reap what we sow?"

Betsy then asked me about all the blogs and news stories about me that show up on the internet. I told her, "Yes, it's true, that over the years I have made less than flattering statements to the media depicting today's crumbling society, but someone needs to tell it like it is. As for the personal blogs, I can't control what people say about me. Some of it is complimentary, some isn't.Some is true, some isn't. But I think the nasty stuff simply proves what former president,Harry Truman, was often quoted as saying: 'The odds of one man being right rise in direct proportion to the ferocity with which his detractors are trying to prove him wrong.'

"Some of those bloggers suggest that I'm a scary guy, but they've come to say that about anyone whom they feel they must discredit for not supporting their political agendas. There's nothing scary or violent about me unless you count the occasional spankings I laid on my kids when they were young and, of course, many cynics do. But maybe that's why their kids are such a mess."

"That's probably true," Betsy agreed, "but do your training camps get into any gender, political, or religious issues?" I told her, "Absolutely not. I don't need to. Everything is covered with my nine steps as listed on the right side of my home page. And, while you're at it, be sure to click on Testimonials to see what other customers are saying about my training camp.

"The bottom line is, Betsy," I concluded, "my customers and their employees do benefit by reading my books and participating in my work and family training camps. I speak of age-old, time-tested principles of being pro-active, the wisdom of following rules, keeping problems, like super stressed-out families and school shootings, from occurring instead of always having to attend to the inevitable mess later. And, even though I'm a lively and outspoken speaker, I always remain professionally sensitive to the wide diversity of my live audiences, in person and on the air. I try to remain respectful of everyone."

So, what's Betsy's decision on hiring me? I don't know for sure. I don't know for sure what anyone is going to do these days. Many will conveniently keep their heads in the sand hoping society's problems will magically disappear, but they won't magically disappear unless responsible people take the lead. Otherwise, there is nothing currently in place which will keep things from getting progressively worse, quickly. If you don't believe me, wait and see for yourself. But don't say I didn't warn you.
